Swim Wear Care

Lycra is a very delicate fabric, and it is this very feature that allows for the sleek, low-drag fit desired in a competition suit.  As with any high-performance product, your proper care will prolong the usable life of this garment.

FITTING

Lycra suits should fit snugly and should not be purchased one size up for growth.  Loose fitting garments do not wear as well as those that conform to the body.  Take gentle care when putting on your suit.  Do not pull hard on the suit; be careful that your fingers do not break the elastic.  It is best to put your suit on by pulling it on in stages using the edges.  Once your suit begins to relax, it will go on with greater ease.

TIPS TO REMEMBER

Ø      To prevent chlorine damage, rinse your suit in cold water immediately after each use.  Allowing the suit to dry before it’s rinsed is particularly damaging.

Ø      Hand wash with mild detergent followed by a fresh-water rinse

Ø      Gently wring or blot excess moisture

Ø      Drip dry, and try to keep out of direct sunlight

Ø      Do not bleach

Ø      Do not place suit in a plastic bag nor roll in a towel for more than an hour; mildew can be just as damaging as chlorine.

MOTTO:  Keep it wet or keep it dry but do not keep it damp!
